A Pennsylvania man was arrested on Sunday for kidnapping a 6-year-old boy, raping him and then abandoning him at a park in Westmoreland County.

Bryan Timothy Lynch, 45, was charged with rape, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and other sex-related crimes, said police in Pennsylvania.

According to police reports, Lynch, along with an unidentified 17-year-old accomplice are alleged with taking the boy from his front yard in Henry Clay Township on Saturday, then bringing the child to Lynch's home to play video games. Afterwards the trio went for ice cream in Lynch's home town of Confluence. They went on to Lynch Field in Greensburg, where the 17-year-old was dropped off. It is unclear as to whether he will face any charges for his involvement.

Then Lynch allegedly walked with the boy to a nearby bike trail, and at that point the child attempted to escape. Lynch caught up with him, pulled down his pants and spanked him then took him back to the car, according to court documents.

Lynch forced the child into the backseat of his car and raped him, police allege. Afterwards Lynch left his victim in a park near Latrobe. An Amber Alert was issued for the boy on Saturday.

Police found the boy at the park where he was abandoned at approximately 2:00am on Sunday.

Lynch was arrested Sunday and when interrogated by police he confessed to kidnapping the victim, traveling with him to Latrobe and Greensburg and sexually assaulting him, The Herald Standard reports.

Lynch was arraigned on Sunday and, unable to post his $250,000 bond, he is currently being held at the Fayette County Prison. A preliminary hearing on this case is scheduled for May 15th.
