Charlotte Hornets coach Steve Clifford believes Jeremy Lin can coexist with starting point guard Kemba Walker in the 2015-16 NBA season.

Clifford said in an interview with the Charlotte Observer that Lin and Walker will play a lot of minutes together. When asked if it will be an effective combination, Clifford compared the Lin-Walker duo to Golden State Warriors backcourt partners Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Lin, who signed a two-year contract worth $4.3 million with the Hornets this offseason, loves playing pick-and-roll offense like Walker. For Clifford, having two guards who are effective in pick-and-roll situations will help them play like the Warriors.

"It's always good to have two pick-and-roll players on the floor," Clifford said. "That way you can put pressure on the defense at one side, then switch it to the other. That makes more room to play similar to how Golden State does."

Clifford said that the Warriors had a lot of success last season because both Curry and Thompson are threats to the opposing teams, and the two All-Stars gave each other a lot of room to operate.

"You've got Steph on one side, so defense have to load up there, and then you've got Klay Thompson on the other with room to operate," Clifford added. "That's what Kemba can do for Jeremy and Jeremy can do for Kemba."

Lin averaged 11.2 points on top of 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, while Kemba Walker posted 17.3 points to go along with 5.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

Clifford Impressed With Incoming Rookies

Meanwhile, Clifford also expressed high hopes for rookies Frank Kaminsky and Aaron Harrison.

Kaminsky, who was the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and Harrison, who went undrafted before signing with the Hornets, impressed Clifford during their summer camp. However, Clifford believes Kaminsky should add strength in order to become an effective player in the big league.

"Just strength. And obviously him adjusting to the NBA game," Clifford said, referring to the area Kaminsky needs to work on. "But he's a quick learner and a good worker. He'll pick things up quickly. That applies to both ends of the floor. He's so good off the dribble that he would beat guys but be pushed off a little bit."
