There is no business like the corrupt cop business, and business is good on "Public Morals."

Episode 2 of the freshman series on TNT is titled "Family is Family" and will air on the cable network tonight at 10 p.m. EDT, according to TV Guide.

What is for sure about this series is that the audience is about to build a love/hate relationship with the main character, Terry Muldoon. He has his job and he has his family. What comes in between those two, gets put away -- immediately.

That's where his job as a Public Morals Officer in the '60s era of the NYPD comes in handy. He walks a fine line between a grey area on the show and as a decent family man.

In tonight's episode, he is forced to investigate his uncle's murder. This is an point where his grey area has leaked over into his family, so he must make sure there are no loose ends. A murder happens on his street, family or not, he goes in and covers him and his crews behinds.

Adding a little insult to the grieving process, Sean O' Bannon makes a play for girl. Maybe it is the grief that throws him into the clutches, but it is not just any girl. He starts a romance between himself and his best friend's sister.

The rookie cop Shea will also get a taste of his new authority. He indulges in the delights of a private, illegal casino, courtesy of the same elements he is required by oath to take down.

The grey area thickens and expands in this episode with so many different arcs occurring that they are bound to cross streams at some point and someone will eventually get hurt.

TVLine reports that the show has real potential with Edward Burns, who plays triple duty as the lead character, writer and the creator for the series.
