The New York Knicks has expressed its interest in bringing back Jeremy Lin to its roster as its search for a point guard continues.

Following the injury of Raymond Felton, the team has been desperately searching for a key player who can fulfill point guard duties, SB Nation reports. Now, the Knicks is attempting to snag Lin from the Houston Rockets in an effort to bring Linsanity back to New York.

Lin gained even more worldwide attention after scoring a buzzer-beater three-point shot that led the Knicks to a 90-87 win against the Toronto Raptors in 2012. The shot was so impressive that former Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Metta World Peace Artest ran out of the locker room screaming "Linsanity" and waving his hands above his head, according to ESPN.

During the offseason of 2012, Lin was told to seek offers from other teams. This was answered by the Rockets offering the star player a three-year deal.

Lin seems comfortable playing the sixth-man role in Houston, Pro Basketball Talk reports. For this season, the Rockets point guard is averaging 13.3 points with a shooting percentage of 58.6% and 4.5 assists per game. His overall shooting percentage from the three-point line is 34%.

Also, with the Rockets' current seven-game winning streak, it would take a really tempting offer for them to let go of one of its best players.

But even if the Knicks does manage to succeed in wooing Lin to return to New York, will he play well with Carmelo Anthony? Back in the 2011-2012 season, Anthony made it clear that he's not the biggest Linsanity fan by calling Houston's $25 million deal with Lin "ridiculous."

Anthony already stated that he's willing to return to the Knicks. According to ABC News, he told reporters after the 2014 All-Star Weekend, "Any opportunity I have to build that up in New York, I'd do it. I told people all the time, always say, 'If it takes me taking a pay cut, I'll be the first one on [Knicks owner] Mr. Dolan's steps saying take my money and let's build something strong over here.'"
