Wednesday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. The grand prize is currently at $120 million, with a cash value of $76.6 million.

Last Saturday’s winning numbers were 18 , 21, 25, 28, 29 and 16. There were 476,202 regular winners and $10,065,797 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to play Powerball. Though the odds will likely change in October, currently there is a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance in winning the grand prize and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 chance in winning $1,000,000.

So the odds of winning are slim, but people do win. The main thing a Powerball player has to do, outside of checking the numbers, is hold on to the ticket.

Perhaps another thing people that are inclined to play Powerball should consider doing is to be wary of potential scams.

WITN News, an East Carolina NBC affiliate, has reported that a local woman came across a social media scam called the "Facebook Powerball Grant Program."

Despite the fact that a friend had forwarded her info about the site, the whole thing sounded a bit suspicious to her. The deal was that if a person sent a check for $1,000 to the alleged grant program, the sender would then receive information on how to get $150,000 in return.

According to the woman, who is now just trying to get the word out about the scam, the sketchy site was claiming that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was behind the project.

Powerball officials have warned that these kinds of scams are not uncommon.

In legitimate Powerball news, WSB-TV  in Atlanta has reported that a fellow named Robert Bosarge has just claimed a $1 million prize.
