For Luciane Hoepers, the Miss Bumbum competition is about more than just looking good and having the best derriere.

According to R7 Entertainment, Hoepers chose to enter the competition to help her feel confident after breaking up with her boyfriend. The Brazilian model, known for her strong and muscular physique, represents the state of Santa Catarina in the 2015 competition and said she wants to prove she is independent.

Hoepers, who shared the article about her relationship on Instagram, explained that the reason she is no longer with her boyfriend is a very sensitive matter for her. She seemed to suggest that her boyfriend cheated and explained how she felt inferior to him while they were together.

"He really controlled the relationship," said Hoepers. "I entered the contest [Miss Bumbum] to prove my autonomy and independence. I don't need a male sleeping with me to feel like a woman."

According to the current rankings, Hoepers is doing very well. The model is currently No. 7 in the rankings, with 6.37 percent of the votes.

The contestant revealed that, while her ex-boyfriend tried getting back with her, he would not admit to betraying her, and she wasn't going to allow that. "I have been through many disappointments," she continued. "I want to invest in my professional career."

Hoepers isn't the only Miss Bumbum contestant using the spotlight to start a career. Cláudia Alende, a contestant of the 2014 competition, is using her image to branch out into television and acting.

Alende recently made headlines for her striking similarity to "Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles" actress Megan Fox. While the model and Miss Bumbum runner-up has admitted to getting work done to look the way she does, she recently revealed how young she was when she began getting Botox.

The 23-year-old explained that she has been getting Botox done on her face since she was a teenager, and claimed that her mother is supportive, reported Globo.

"The contest is famous around the world, and I want to be recognized around the world and become famous, too," she said about why she joined Miss Bumbum 2014.

The model has seen her Instagram followers double since her similarities to Fox became widespread online news.
