A viral flu epidemic is expected to overtake much of the city of Los Angeles in the next episode of "Fear The Walking Dead."

According to International Business Times, episode 3 of the new season finds "swarming zombies" and "scattered human emotions" gripping much of the major metropolis.

Up until the last episode, Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), fully aware of all the looming danger, desperately searched for his son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) with the help of ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez). At the same time, Madison (Kim Dickens) was frantically trying to keep her daughter under wraps as the outbreak dangerously came closer to reaching their neighborhood.

Over the next two episodes, both Travis and Madison are expected to face even greater dangers, as they seek to move out of the city and reach the desert. All the apparent and imminent danger seems to put the pair's hopes of a future together in grave danger.

The burning question seems to be: Will the two somehow become separated from one another as they desperately search for other loved ones?

TV Guide reports episode 3, entitled "The Dog," will find Travis, Liza and Chris all seeking refuge with a Mexican family, identified as the Salazars, after escaping a violent riot. Meanwhile, Madison defends her home.

In episode 4, the focus will be on the government, as authorities try to gain the upper hand over the growing crisis. Entitled "Not Fade Away," it also finds Madison and Travis struggling to make sense of the National Guard's occupation of their neighborhood.

The AMC-aired series returns with a new episode on September 13, skipping the Labor Day holiday weekend for airing a new show.
