"People's Champ" Manny Pacquiao undoubtedly confirms that he will not hang his gloves up yet next year.

A report from TMZ quotes Top Rank CEO Bob Arum saying that "Pacman" is set to retire in 2016 "once he's elected to the Senate of the Philippines" to focus his aim on the Presidency.

However, the Filipino boxing icon, who has not even announced his intention to run yet for a Senate seat, per Minda News, squashed Arum's statements hinting that he will still continue even after 2016.

"I know better what is happening to my body. Just leave it alone. Better not to react to that," Pacquiao told The National.

Possible next fights for the Filipino champ

Freddie Roach believes that "Pacman" still has a couple of fights left with him, ThaBoxingVoice noted.

What's interesting for his fans to know is who could be his possible opponents for his succeeding fights, or, better yet, if he could at least face some of his past foes one more time to add more spice to a remarkable legacy.

First, Arum seemed to be interested in seeing his fighter clash with World Boxing Council Silver Welterweight titlist Amir Khan next year, The Telegraph noted. It could be an interesting showdown as both fighters were once sparring partners under Roach's Wild Car Gym in Los Angeles.

Second, Roach was irked with the statements of Danny Garcia's father, Angel, against "Pacman" that he recently wanted to prove him wrong, Boxing Scene reported. This means that "Pacman" would easily defeat Danny in a match, despite Angel's criticisms.

Third, if Roach is irritated with Angel's statements, he should be more eager to settle the score with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr., who recently lambasted Pacquiao. The reigning pound-for-pound king said on Showtime that "Pacman" was just all hype and "built" by media but never really reached his level, as per a separate article from Boxing Scene.

Fourth, the current World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is expecting for a trilogy from "Pacman," shared his coach Joel Diaz, On the Ropes Boxing Radio informed.

Fifth, and definitely the one considered to be the most exciting event for his fans, is for the "Pacman" to avenge his memorable 2012's knockout loss, per ESPN, to none other than his arch enemy Juan Manuel Marquez. "Dinamita" seemed to be open to fighting Pacquiao again for the fifth time as hinted on World Boxing News.

Still, the first and only eight-time world champion actually does not have anything to prove at all, it is just perhaps the warrior in him who still wants to go on for the sake of his boxing fans.
