Serena Williams and Venus Williams will take the spotlight on Day 9 when they collide in the women's quarterfinals of the 2015 US Open Tennis on Tuesday at Flushing Meadows.

Serena Williams, who is looking to win her fourth straight US Open title and also her fourth Grand Slam title this year, booked a spot in the final eight after cruising to a 6-3, 6-3 win against 19th seed compatriot Madison Keys.

On the other hand, Venus Williams advanced to the quarterfinals via comfortable 6-2, 6-1 victory against unseeded Anett Kontaveit of Estonia. The 23rd seed also scored a 6-3, 6-4 upset against 12th seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland in the third round.

According to a report on the tournament's official website, the Williams sisters will collide for the 27th time in their respective careers. Serena holds a 15-11 advantage over her older sister and has won in six of their last seven matches. They are 2-2 against each other in the US Open, including one win apiece in their final encounters.

Serena expects a fun and intense showdown against Venus. The younger Williams is heavily favored heading into the match, but Serena pointed out that her sister knows how to defeat her, which is the main reason why she knows there is no room for complacency on Tuesday.

"She's beaten me so many times," Serena said of her sister. "I've taken a lot of losses off of her - more than anybody. Yeah, she's a player that knows how to win, knows how to beat me, and knows my weaknesses better than anyone. So it's not an easy match at all. Hopefully things will go right."

In the other women's quarterfinal match of the day, unseeded players Kristina Mladenovic of France and Roberta Vinci of Italy will collide for a spot in the semis.

In the men's side, top seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia will try to move one step closer to winning his second US Open title when he takes on 18th seed Feliciano Lopez of Spain in the quarterfinals. They faced each other five times before, with Djokovic sweeping all matches and dropping just two sets.

Defending champion and ninth seed Marin Cilic of Croatia will go up against 19th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the other men's quarterfinal pairing. Cilic is 4-1 against Tsonga.
