The creators of Minecraft announced a new feature that is sure to make players happy. They will now be able to interact with players using different platforms.

According to The Verge, Mojang announced it will be upgrading its Windows 10 and Pocket editions of its popular game Minecraft to include cross-platform compatability. Players on PC, iOS, Windows Phone, and Android will now be able to build on the same server together. People with the Pocket edition will now see enhanced weather effects, will be able to create new items, and will finally be able to sprint around in the world they've shaped.

Up to five players can play through one network. If you share a house with more than one person, you can share the network at the same time without worrying about lagging.

According to The Inquisitr, Minecraft: Pocket Edition will be the only Minecraft game that will receive this update. Xbox Wire provided more information about the update:

"For starters, you'll get to enjoy revamped touch controls, controller support, and the controller mapping screen. You'll also be treated to the same enhanced weather effects that Windows 10 Edition Beta players have received, including snow accumulation and directional rain. And in addition to plenty of new goodies to build and potions to brew, you'll now be able to encounter golems and ocelots, and even explore the Nether. Finally, this update brings the ability to sneak and sprint in Pocket Edition."

Originally, the update was supposed to be released today, but according to Mojang's Jens Bergensten, the team ran into problems. He made a statement via his Twitter account:

There is another Minecraft game that is coming this year. Minecraft: Story Mode will be available in November.
