HBO is releasing a comedy TV series soon called Silicon Valley. The series will be about about software engineers who are highly qualified at what they do but are not good at handling the success that comes with it. According to the creators, the series is inspired by its producer Mike Judge, who used to be a Silicon Valley engineer. Stars included in this comedy series are Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, and Christopher Evan Welch.

This series revolves around Richard, who is considered a geek and not too good when it comes to socializing. He is a software engineer living in a 'hacker hostel' along with his best friends. They are bound for success in their chosen field, but the comedic part plays on how they manage success and the journey to it. Having the lead actors play characters who are computer geeks plays an important role in making this series very comedic. Other issues the show tackles includes topics such as buyout offers, anxiety, Asperger's syndrome and even attempted suicide.

The trailer alone has already elicited controversies since one of the conversations went like this: "You've got to deliver like Steve." The main character, Richard, then replies "Jobs was a poser. He didn't even write a code." According to the makers of the series, viewers can expect more controversial punch lines throughout the season.

At the moment, it is not yet clear how many episodes will be shown for Season One and there might also be a reshuffling of the cast along the way. Mike Judge directed the pilot episode and it is set for premier on April 6, 2014. Fans of the other comedy show that talks about geeks, The Big Bang Theory, may be looking forward to how the story of this new set of geeks will progress throughout the series.
