The roster for the new upcoming entry into the Street Fighter franchise has recently expanded to include its first Middle-Eastern combatant, named Rashid.

His reveal came at Games15, a video game show held in Dubai. Game director Yoshinori Ono made the announcement, however he was quite short on the details and specs of the character. It has been confirmed that Rashid's move set will include the manipulation of the wind.

A short character reveal trailer has been released by Capcom, showcasing the character's many moves and abilities.

"He throws a short range tornado that extends vertically, likely as a set up for combos as he jumps over the blocking Ryu as seen in the video. He appears to toss out mini-tornadoes, possibly as his anti-air move for players jumping in on him. Rashid also has a roll that allows him to duck underneath projectiles, allowing him to close the distance on an opposing player," writes IGN.

Two more brand new characters are expected to be announced as additions to the roster of 16 before the game's official launch. The last reveal Capcom made was the new iteration of their Rainbow Mika character. She appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3, but this will be her first appearance in the game's core series.

"By calling Nadeshiko at the right time using R. Mika's V-Trigger ability, you'll be able to setup sneaky attacks and punishing command grab mix-ups that are sure to knock the stuffing out of your opponent," Capcom community manager Peter "Combofiend" Rosas said at PAX Prime. "Players who enjoy close-combat guessing games and striking fear into the hearts of opponents will find R. Mika an absolute delight to play."

Street Fighter V is slated for a 2016 release.
