It appears fans who are awaiting the premiere of the revived "X-Files" series may not all have to wait until January to get a first glimpse at the reboot. It has recently been announced that New York City's Comic-Con will be hosting an exclusive screening of the pilot.

The screening is said to take place on Saturday, Oct. 10 on the Main Stage of the Javits Center. The screening will be accompanied by series star David Duchovny and creator Chris Carter for a Q&A session. This will be the first time NYCC will run a panel for the "X-Files."

Not much has been revealed about the limited series. However, it is slated for a six episode run that will feature Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back in their iconic roles as paranormal investigators. Familiar faces from the original series, such as Skinner, the Lone Gunmen, and the Smoking Man, are slated to appear as well. New additions to the cast include Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Screening exclusive footage at Comic-Con has classically proved advantageous for studios in the past, as the event has become a worldwide haven for diehard fans of various shows and movies. It will also help to prime younger audiences who are still unfamiliar with the 90's television series.

The official logline for the miniseries states that it will combine "stand-alone investigative episodes and those that further the original show's seminal mythology."

"X-Files" returns to Fox with its revival debut on Jan. 24, 2016.
