Hulk Hogan is arguably one of the biggest names and the most popular wrestler in the history of the WWE. He is arguably the most recognizable face in the 1980s Golden Era of Wrestling. His popularity skyrocketed and helped put the WWE on the map.

Hogan left and returned to the WWE four times, being embraced by the company and the fans. The man, whose real name is Terry Bollea, was involved in a scandal last July that involved an anti-black racist rant from a sex tape that focuses on his repeated use of the N-word and homophobic slurs, as reported by TMZ Sports.

He was not only released by the WWE but was erased entirely from its history like what they did with Chris Benoit, Jeff Jarrett and Chyna, among other WWE superstars. The 62-year-old recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated, where he talked about how he felt after he was fired and if he would be ever back with the WWE.

He first talked about what he felt being erased from the history. "This business has been my life. It's been my heartbeat. I want to be 80 years old and still connected to this business. So for my whole life to be taken away from me? Like I never existed? Like Hulk Hogan's never been a wrestler? I just can't believe everything I worked for my whole life is gone," Hogan said.

Hogan continued that that he was not really a racist. He apologized for what he did and said that he was in a dark place when he made the racist rant. "Yes, I said it. I'm accountable for it, and I'm so sorry. I'm not a racist. I've got a lot of support from the African-American community. I'm just so sorry I was in a situation where I was venting and I was mad," the six-time WWE champion said.

Hogan also said that he was not able to talk to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, instead it was Paul "Triple H" Levesque who talked to him over the phone. He said that Levesque called him and said, "I've got some news and it isn't good. Vince said that you need to resign."

"I never heard from Vince or talked to Vince. In the middle of the night, they just fired me," Hogan added. Lastly, he said that he was working towards repairing his relationship with the WWE so that "Hulkamania" could run wild forever.

"The only place for me to be would be the WWE. I thought I'd go step-by-step, crawling uphill with WWE, to explain how wrong I was, but that opportunity wasn't there. I'd love to sit down and connect with Vince," Hogan said.

It is not impossible for Hulk Hogan to come back with the WWE as the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage and Bret Hart were all erased but was returned and honored.
