After the James Blake incident last week, in which the former tennis pro was violently arrested, the New York Police Department Union spoke out on the incident.

According to Bleacher Report, the NYPD union released a statement on Blake's wrongful arrest. Newsweek's Polly Mosendz tweeted out the statement from NYPD Union President Patrick J. Lynch:

In the statement, Lynch said, "[The] media aren't qualified to judge the actions of police officers."

Last week, former tennis star Blake was wrongfully arrested by the NYPD after being tackled to the ground by James Frascatore. The plainclothes police officer was looking for a suspect in a credit card fraud investigation case and mistook Blake as a suspect.

Blake told The New York Times he was "body-slammed to the ground and the officer told him to turn over and shut my mouth and handcuffed me."

Today, over 30 government officials and activists stormed City Hall and demanded the termination of officer Frascatore. City Council member Andy King was a part of the protest.

"(Commissioner Bill Bratton) has a responsibility, he and the mayor, to take a real deep look into themselves to say something is wrong with this officer." King said.

The New York Daily News reports Frascatore has a history of excessive force during false arrests and has been sued four times. Officer Frascatore will meet with Internal Affairs investigators this week, and they will determine an appropriate punishment for him. He has already been reassigned to desk duty and had his gun and shield taken away.

Blake said last week he wants officer Frascatore to be fired. You can check out the video of the arrest of James Blake below:
