A more mature Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is ready to impress not just his boxing fans, but World Boxing Council middleweight champion Miguel Cotto as well, when they collide on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

"Canelo's" trainer Jose "Chepo" Reynoso told El Vocero that the young Mexican rising star will amaze boxing aficionados with the level of depth in his upcoming performance in November. According to the coach, "Canelo" is aiming to capture the WBC crown for himself, Boxing Scene reported.

"We will see the Canelo be more mature [in the ring], a fighter with more experience, calculating. The work he is doing is the best that I've ever seen and on November 21 you will see all the progress," Reynoso said.

The Puerto Rican boxer still doesn't regard his challenger a great fighter despite "Canelo" having only one loss in his entire career to no other than the undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Cotto commented on El Vocero that when then-undefeated "Canelo" had "his first major challenge [with Mayweather] he looked like a rookie," Boxing Scene noted.

World-class trainer Freddie Roach is also confident that although "Canelo" has a strong fan base, he's not just ripe enough yet to defeat an experienced fighter like Cotto, Boxing Scene informed.

"I'm not scared of this guy. Just because he's a pretty boy and all the girls like watching him fight - doesn't mean he's a good fighter. He's okay, but he's not going to beat my guy - I promise you. At 3-1 [odds], I'm going to bet both my houses," Roach said.

Still, the Mexican warrior's camp is ready to let their 25-year-old boxer do the talking in the ring, per another article from Boxing Scene. Reynoso again confirmed that they will remain on their goal and do not care of these comments hurled on "Canelo."

"We are doing our job, trying to do things the best that we can and time will tell if things were well done, and that's the most important things," Reynoso said.

"Canelo's" weakness

A fan of both fighters, Jose Vargas commented on Boxing News 24 that the "only way" he sees the Mexican fighter "winning is by landing a clean ass shot that rocks Cotto enough to allow Canelo to let his hands go" and if "Canelo" doesn't knock out Cotto early, the older boxer, who is a "more complete fighter," will triumph and could even do it via a KO. He also noted that "Canelo" not being too adept at "cutting off the ring" makes him vulnerable.
