Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is entering his 20th NBA season and many believe that this could be his last, especially after suffering three major injuries in the last three years. But the 38-year-old told reporters during the Lakers Media Day that he has not made any decision about his retirement, as reported by Yahoo! Sports.

"I don't know what will be the decisive factor. I don't spend much time to think about it. There is so much to think about, this season, this group." Bryant said. The Lakers are currently in rebuilding mode as they try to have a good year especially if it is Kobe's final season.

"It's interesting to be around these young guys, it's the beginning of their career, of their journey. I am as excited as I have been for a long time. They are bringing energy, its fun to be part of that. It makes you feel younger," the five-time NBA Champion added.

NBA.com noted that the Lakers legend suffered a torn right rotator cuff last Jan. 21 but was medically cleared to participate in all basketball activities. Apart from that, ESPN also mentioned that he fractured his lateral tibial plateau on his left knee in December 2013 and injured his left Achilles tendon towards the end of the 2012-2013 season.

Kobe told Sports Illustrated that he felt very good coming into the season, saying, "My body and my legs feel extremely strong and healthy. The biggest change is I feel very, very solid in my legs."

Back to the subject of retirement, Kobe said that he talked to other players including New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who just retired last year after 20 seasons. "We joke. He and I couldn't be any more opposite with personalities. Its fun just kind of hearing his perspective and what he went through and kind of what triggered the decision for him to step away from the game. I don't know what that's going to be for me," the 2008 MVP said via ESPN.

Someone who is as competitive as Kobe certainly won't know when he wants to end a great career. His body and age have given him the signs that he needs to retire to avoid further injuries. He is already one of the greatest players in NBA history and it would be a sad day once he announces his retirement.

"If it is, it is. If it isn't, I'll be ready for next season. I don't spend too much time thinking about it. I've got enough to think about," Bryant on if this season would be his last.
