Ellie Goulding admitted she's ready for marriage and credits her relationship with Dougie Poynter for her decision to settle down. The singer recently talked about wedding plans with her boyfriend and revealed what her ideal wedding ceremony would be.

The "On My Mind" singer talked candidly about her future during an interview with Glamour magazine for its November issue. When asked if she's ready to settle down, Ellie replied with an excited, "God, yes!" The singer considered that she's nearly 30, so she should already be thinking about marriage.

However, prior to her relationship with Poynter, Ellie admitted that she used to have a "warped view of marriage." The singer grew up knowing a lot of people whose parents got divorced, so she hasn't thought of being in that situation.

"So for a long time I did think that I'd never get married and that men were s**t - all that stuff," she told Glamour.

But her view of marriage reportedly changed when she met someone who re-established that trust (referencing to her boyfriend Dougie).

As to what type of wedding she would like, Ellie told Glamour that she would want to have a traditional ceremony.

"Having a church wedding, with all my family in one place - I love the idea of that," the 29-year-old told the publication.

Dougie, on the other hand, had previously also hinted of his engagement with Ellie during an interview with Mail Online at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards earlier in June. The 27-year-old, who reportedly lives with Ellie, dropped a hint that he already had plans to propose to her when asked if they were ready to take their relationship to the church altar.

"Well... I don't want to say too much. It would ruin the surprise," he replied with a smile.

During the awards held at London's Berkeley Square, Ellie also gushed about her boyfriend and called him the "coolest person in the world." Dougie, likewise, only had good words to say about his girlfriend, calling her "beautiful and talented... just incredible."

According to Mail Online, Ellie and Dougie Poynter, a singer from the British pop rock group "McBusted," first met at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards in December 2013. However, Mirror UK claimed it was only in February 2014 that the "Love Me Like You Do" singer confirmed her relationship with Poynter and the pair has since been spotted on dates the following month.
