Maddie Ziegler's star is rising but she might be willing to come back to her roots for the "Dance Moms" upcoming sixth season.

While the speculation in the last few months has been pointing to her exit from the hit reality show, nothing has been confirmed yet. A special kick-off event for "Dance Moms" season six posted in Eventbrite included Maddie Ziegler's name along with other young favorites Mackenzie Ziegler, JoJo Siwa, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker and Nia Frazer.

This points to the possibility that the "Dance Moms" cast may not experience a major shake-up with the return of Ziegler and coach Abby Lee Miller.

A previous report from Latin Post revealed that Ziegler bagged a role in her mentor and close friend Sia's upcoming film entitled "Sister." This spurred further rumors that she will not be returning to the dance show for its next seasons. With a host of opportunities and a growing fanbase, she has a good chance to carve out a career outside of the Lifetime show.

In an interview with MTV Australia last July, Ziegler shared that her career plans were not limited to dancing.

"I particularly want more acting," she admitted during the phone interview. "I've been auditioning a lot and I definitely want to act. My favourite TV show is 'Pretty Little Liars' and I actually made a guest appearance on it. I didn't really have lines for my character but I definitely want to get more into those kinds of shows."

While dancing remains a huge part of her life and her future goals, the 12-year-old dancer is looking forward to dabbling in other areas of the entertainment industry, saying, "I would definitely say doing movies and definitely doing TV shows but also I would say moving on with my dance career. I'm not exactly sure what I want to be doing with my dancing yet but I definitely know I want to be doing a lot of acting, like scripted roles and movies and TV shows."

She added, "It would be so cool. I really want to keep modelling but it's not my number one goal in life."

That was back in the summer and when asked about her plans for "Dance Moms," Ziegler was non-committal, saying she still hasn't decided if she will be part of the show or not moving forward.

The "Dance Moms" season six kick-off special will be held in California on Saturday, Oct. 3.
