Flappy Bird was a big deal to us for the short period of time that it existed, but it still seems like a big deal for app creators who are looking to make spinoffs of the game.

According to a report based on research from Pocket Gamer, a Flappy Bird spinoff was created every 24 minutes between Feb. 28 and March 3. This shows just how much the game's legacy has lived on, whether it be because of app creators trying to come up with a spinoff or if it's simply because gamers loved the concept of the original game.

According to Jailbreak Matrix, you can find the Flappy Bird game located in the Cydia store and an immediate hack allows you to play the game without any of the pipes or chimneys that you would see in the original game. This hack would allow you to reach the high score as long as you happen to have the patience to play for that long period of time.

The original game can still be played on devices as long as the user already had the game. The game's creator, Dong Nguyen, took the application down because he was so overwhelmed with the way the game quickly went viral.

"I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine," he said via his Twitter account on Feb. 8. "But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it."

"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down," he later said. "I cannot take this anymore."

The game became popular based on its very simple yet challenging gameplay. Now, the spinoff games are using some variety of the same concept in order to make their games just as addictive as Flappy Bird.
