According to rumors, Mary-Kate Olsen and boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy could be engaged. The only problem is they might have different opinions on how long the engagement should last.

Olsen, 27, and Sarkozy, 44, have yet to officially announce their engagement.

"If they are engaged, they haven't announced it to family and friends in France yet, but who knows," a source from Sarkozy's home of Paris said in an interview with E! News.

The source also added that if Olsen and Sarkozy did get engaged, "it would have been during a recent holiday they spent in Jamaica."

An "insider" says that the couple also must decide if they will start their life-long commitment in France or in the United States.

"They haven't been in Paris for a while," the source said. "It looks like the ring is an American one, which would make sense as Mary-Kate always seems a lot happier in the States."

In fact, the source claims that Olsen would prefer to live in the United States in an effort to get Sarkozy out of his past, and into his future with her.

"Paris is all about Olivier's old life, his wife included," the source continued. "America is all about his new life with Mary-Kate. She's always made it pretty clear that she wants to settle down as quickly as possible."

Sarkozy got a divorce from Charlotte Bernard in 2010. They were together for 13 years and had two children: a 12-year-old son named Julien and a 10-year-old daughter named Margo.

Still, how could anyone resist the idea of a Paris wedding? In January, a potential Olsen and Sarkozy marriage was speculated after the lovebirds checked out ancient churches in the city.

"[But Sarkozy wants to] keep the whole thing on the other side of the Atlantic," the source claimed.

Olsen's twin Ashley is also reportedly dating an older man. Her boyfriend, Moneyball director Bennett Miller, is 47.
