Bella Hadid is no stranger to the public, especially on runway shows as she has already conquered the fashion world doing modelling jobs for Tom Ford and recently scored a contract with Victoria's Secret.

However, it would be the first time that the public sees a different side of the 18-year-old as she has expressed her intention to represent the United States in equestrian events at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Apparently, aside from having a successful modelling career under her name, Bella is also a nationally-ranked equestrian. In an interview with Porter magazine for its October issue (via Just Jared), she revealed that riding horses has been her passion since she was three years old. Now she has set her passion high and expressed her interest to compete in next year's Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro.

According to MTV, Bella has expressed her desire to compete in three equestrian categories, including dressage, jumping and eventing. She's reportedly currently training for the competition, which according to the official site of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics kicks off on Aug. 5 and ends on Aug. 21.

During her interview with Porter magazine, Bella also revealed how her love for horses and horse riding started. The model said it was her mother Yolanda Foster who taught her a lot about the sport. Yolanda, who Mirror UK recognized from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," is reportedly also fond of horses and Bella said it's through her that she learned so much about horse riding.

"My devotion stemmed from my mom's love of horses. I have been riding since I could walk and the fact that my mom knew everything about horses really helped my passion grow," she said.

While some may take horse riding as a mere leisure sport, the model considers it as her way of relaxation. She said that it has become her escape away from her stressful life. Her passion for the sport has reportedly helped her cope with the pressures of the fashion world. While others do yoga to relieve stress, Bella said she prefers to go horse riding, since it basically also has the same effect as yoga.

"You have to put your ego aside and concentrate on making the horse do the things you want it to do, and move in the way you want it to move," she told Porter during her interview.
