The upcoming introduction of Sony's PlayStation VR has brought hype to gamers who wish to try the device, but that's not the only thing Sony is offering at this moment. According to Digital Spy, Sony is looking forward to bringing "Gran Turismo 7" to the PlayStation VR once it's launched next year.

Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 can sit quietly, knowing that it will be eventually accompanied by its VR counterpart in the near future. Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that after several testing of games to the new VR, the "Gran Turismo" has so far given them the best feedback, and they are contemplating on integrating the game to the VR once it's launched.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Yoshida said, "[In the] many trials we've been doing, some genres just work fine. One of those genres is racing games. So when Gran Turismo comes out on PS4, I'd like to see it support PlayStation VR."

As for the "Gran Turismo 7" release date, Kazunori Yamauchi of Polyphony Digital hinted in a report from T3 that it might eventually come to PlayStation 4 platforms by 2017. At the moment, "Gran Turismo 6" is currently taking center stage with Polyphony Digital releasing the latest of its new patches. The patch is available for free download for iOS and Android users wherein gamers can design their own track.

GamesRadar, on the other hand, expressed its doubts on the realities of games being integrated on Virtual Reality gaming, implying that the "Gran Turismo" series should not be immediately counted in, at least not before the actual release of the Virtual Reality headsets in the market. The game has been one of Polyphony's pride in the conventional gaming consoles, and with the possible integration to VR, this might just be heir chance to really capitalize on the venture.

In Yoshida's statement via Eurogamer, he said "The team, we need to find a great angle for the racing to continue, to come up with a new racing game if we're to look at another racing title. Creative ideas come when things are tough, so that lightbulb moment, I'm looking forward to."

Meanwhile, the Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition is expected to be available on PlayStation stores starting Oct. 6. PlayStation Plus members will get a chance to keep the game free if they're able to activate it within the day. According to GamesRadar, Yoshida lauds Evolution Studios for being very patient in the development of the racing game despite some glitches during its early stages.
