Saturday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. The grand prize is currently at $40 million, with a cash value of $25.4 million.

Last Wednesday’s winning numbers were 21, 39, 40, 55 and 59, and the Powerball was 17. There were 1,584,849 regular winners, and $16,156,444 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are nine ways to play Powerball. Starting Sunday, the odds of winning the jackpot will go from 1 in 176 million to 1 in 293 million. As the chances of winning the jackpot become more difficult, the chances of winning any regular Powerball prize will increase, going from 1 in less than 32 to 1 in less than 25.

The Associated Press reports that the odds were changed in order to bring in more players. "Nationwide, across the board, Powerball has been down," said Montana Lottery director Angela Wong.

But someone in Michigan, who has yet to come forward, has just won the $310.5 million grand prize.

As an NBC affiliate reports, a source who claims to work with the winner at a manufacturing plant says that she was doing an overnight shift when she realized she won. The co-worker describes the scene, saying, “I see everyone crowding around her, and I went up to ask what happened, told us that she won. She clocked out and left.”

“I believe she kind of lost control of that point with crying and shaking until she was able to drive home,” added the co-worker, who relayed that the winner said she say planed to use her money to continue on fixing up her house so that her aging mother could come to live with her.
