The new iPhone Gmail app for iOS 7 boasts the ability to send and receive messages quicker. This time, there will be no more pauses or crashes and it can also be refreshed in order to get the messages much faster. As long as the Background Refresh is on, it can immediately notify the user about any new messages. To set this up, one has to go to Settings, then General, then click Background App Refresh and turn it on. In some cases, it is already turned on by default. There is also another setting that has to be changed for automatic user notification. To do this, click Settings, then Notification Center, then Gmail and turn the notification settings on.

Other than providing a quicker messaging service, the new Gmail app also allows users to sign in to Google apps other than Gmail without even logging in through a password or authentication procedure. One can just sign in for the first time and the next time around, it will automatically sign in for you. The overall look and feel of the app has also changed a bit.

Google is striving harder to provide a faster service for iPhone and iPad users as much as it does for Android users. The new Gmail iPhone app is available for free. For those who have already installed a previous version they can simply update the app to get the new features. After updating, however, there might be a need to log in again.

Those who have previously downloaded the paid version of Google apps will still continue enjoying the full support and services of the company. However, those who wish to shift to the free downloadable apps can just get them from app stores. With the number of messaging services on the rise these days, Google looks to remain competitive and remains a top choice for many users.
