The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus arrives as Apple's newest and most innovative mobile device, but inquisitive users still beg the question as to how well it stacks up against the company's previous products.

The general consensus out is that it is indeed the best phone out of the line so far, despite the minimal changes it made compared to the original iPhone 6. The most notable feature is the new pressure-sensitive screen that allows for more versatile use.

Bend Test

There are no visual design changes from the last phone, but the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus now comes encased in a 7000-series aluminum alloy which attributes to the slight increase in weight. This increased protection may be the perfect fix for the rampant bending issue that occurred with last year's iPhone 6 release.

The YouTube channel Fonefox demonstrated a bend test in a video and proved how difficult the iPhone 6s Plus was to bend. Here is another test. And another for additional references. They all conclude that the new iteration phones can withstand more pressure exerted on the case than the iPhone 6.

Waterproof...?

This may lead users to also question just how indestructible this new phone really is. Jeff Suovanen, an engineer at iFixit, sought to determine if the iPhone 6s was waterproof and proved with some very intricate details to the insulation, users could say goodbye to water damage.

"It's basically a thin wall, it almost looks like wetsuit material. It's not that, but it looks like that. It's soft, spongy, you can press on it and feel it give a little bit," Suovanen said about the material surrounding the logic board.

"It's surrounding those little logic board connectors, and then the ribbon cable connects over the top and creates a little pressure seal to keep the water out."

Gizmodo

Gizmodo lists a few more of the new features or updates the 6s and 6s Plus carries and offers its verdict on if you should take the plunge.

"If you want or need to buy a new iPhone, buy this iPhone. Everything else aside, the faster guts will make it last longer than any other before it. 3D Touch and Live Photos are equally fantastic. But they're not reasons to upgrade from an older (but perfectly good) iPhone 6 or even 5s for that matter."

CNET

CNET seemed to consider the phone a viable upgrade but not essential if you already hold an iPhone 6.

"The newest iPhones are top-to-bottom better phones with lots of enhancements; iPhone 6 owners don't need the upgrade, but everyone else should seriously consider it."

IGN

IGN concurs with the last sentiment, stating while it's an amazing device, it hasn't done much to beat out their last impressive product.

"The iPhone 6s Plus is a big, beautiful phone-with equal emphasis on both. It's an ideal two-handed device and is fantastic for games, media, and productivity, but the size of the standard iPhone 6s make the smaller phone better suited for most users. Still, Apple's latest Plus is super speedy, 3D Touch is a truly innovative new feature, and the camera enhancements bring various benefits. All told, it's another excellent iPhone-although if you have the 6 Plus, an upgrade now is hardly necessary."
