Following the harrowing events of the last episode of "Blue Bloods," the NYPD now has more on their hands to deal with that is a little closer to home.

The next episode is "All the News That's Fit to Click" and will air on broadcast network CBS this Friday, Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. EDT, according to TV Guide.

Fans can rest assured the explosive action of Season 6 is going to reach a new critical mass when the episode starts out with a reporter, Lorenzo Colt (Zachary Booth), who gets shot. But the situation is far from what it appears.

According to Spoilers Guide, the reporter is on a general assignment for his news agency, which is to do a ride along with police officers Jamie and Eddie. This also means that when he was targeted by the shooter, he was wearing NYPD gear.

This leads the force and commissioner Reagan to believe Colt was not the primary target but rather the police. This of course mirrors some of today's current events in regards to recent events around the country.

The episode features Danny and Baez fervently running down leads of the perpetrator, looking for anyone who might have a grudge with the department or any of its officers.

Although that will dominate most of the details for the episode, fans will also see that Garret in contemplating taking another job.

The last episode didn't end so well for Danny, who saved the last victim of the serial killer but was beat up by the maniac, who escaped. He was last seen taunting Danny over the phone around a group of kids. The episode ended with no resolution to that disturbing scene.
