A companion app for NBA 2K16 will allow mobile users to earn Virtual Currency (VC) for use in the console version of the game.

The MyNBA2K16 app for iPhones and Android devices is a free app available for download from the iTunes App store, the Google Play store and Amazon App Store for users who preordered the game, News Everyday reports.

MyNBA2K16 features Paul George as the cover athlete, and it allows NBA 2K16 players to take their game with them no matter where they go. iPhone users will need to be running iOS 7 or higher to play the game, and Android users will have to have a relatively update version of Android to play it.

As players use MyNBA2K16 they will earn MyTeam cards. These cards will provide "more animations and faster gameplay" on the console version of NBA 2K16. Players will also be able to earn VC through the app, which can be used to upgrade their created players and gaming experience in NBA 2K16.

The card game inside the MyNBA2K16 app is how players will earn VC. This is the easiest and quickest way to earn Virtual Currency when players are away from the game. Winning card games will simply require players to have better player cards than their opponent, so it shouldn't be too hard. It is very important that players link their NBA 2K16 account to the app to ensure their rewards get transferred to the console version of the game, according to Touch Arcade.

Players will upgrade a stack of player cards as they go through the app. As they upgrade these players, their cards become stronger and they will win more matches, resulting in more VC.
