Hollywood legend and former rap star Will Smith has said he intends to mark his return to music in a big way, when he sets off on a world tour next summer with his old hip-hop partner and "Fresh Prince" co-star DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Smith revealed the exciting news during an interview with radio host Zane Lowe, saying he was "pretty certain" he would embark on his first world tour in the summer of 2016, and that Jazzy Jeff would accompany him as well, E! Online reports.

While the 47-year-old Smith has remained incredibly relevant as an actor, with appearances in the upcoming films "Concussion" and "Suicide Squad," he has been noticeably absent in the music sphere for close to a decade. But Smith shocked fans when he appeared on a remix of Bomba Estéreo's "Fiesta."

Smith told Lowe that the remix was an attempt at "shaking the rust off, knocking the dust off," and that he actually had about 30 recorded songs, several that he liked a lot.

The actor also admitted that venturing into music again terrified him, and that his previous success actually hindered him in a way.

"When you've had a certain amount of success, it seems like it should breed confidence. But it actually doesn't," Smith told Lowe. "When you win a lot, and then you lose the ability to lose. You're not allowed to lose anymore."

Smith went on to say that fear was the killer of creativity, and that failure was necessary to succeed. He envies his kids for the fearlessness and reckless abandon their youth grants them.

Nevertheless, the aging actor said he never intends to stop making music.

"I'm definitely interested in pushing the envelope of spittin'-how far can you go? I'ma keep giving it a shot up until I'm 70 or 80 years old," Smith said. "I'm just trying to still find that voice. I have so many things that I wanna say. I'm struggling with saying 'em in a way that fit the flavor of music that I tend to like."
