Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has booked his first post-debate appearance on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

According to Deadline, Sanders will be engaged in his first debate with his top rival for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton, next week on Thursday, Oct. 15 on CNN.

As most people are well aware, the post-debate interviews helps voters get some perspective from the mudslinging that goes on in presidential debates, as evidenced by the Republican National Debates that have given candidates like Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina many headlines.

Although there has not been a lot of mudslinging going on between the two Democratic front-runners lately, there is likely to be some controversial claims made on stage where both will have to respond to each other in the face of the adversity.

The debates are a way for candidates to draw out their opponents and tell the voters why their own tickets would be a better vote.

So now, Sanders has officially booked his first post-debate appearance on the "Ellen" show, and it is too early to tell what kind of topics they will be tackling at this time.

The debates between Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama back in 2008 were quite controversial with claims being made by both sides that have long since still been kept alive by Republican adversaries, such as the "Birther" controversy.

To top that off, DeGeneres has already had Clinton on her show and declared her at that time to be "the smartest and most qualified person for this job." This in some way is an endorsement for her, but with Sanders coming on the program, one has to wonder if she is towing the party line or giving each candidate due diligence.

There have been no reports yet as to who will land the first Clinton post-debate interview. Both candidates are considered the front-runners for the party's nomination and will likely get the most press coverage after the debate.
