HP is flying under the radar, but their new models of hybrids are set to rival high-end offers including the highly acclaimed Surface Pro. The Spectre X2 is a new premium 2-in-1 device by HP with a combination of style and performance that makes it a worthy competitor to more well-known brands on the market.

The design of the Spectre X2 goes a long way in helping the new device stand out on the shelves. Chicer and sleeker than many of its contemporaries, the 12-inch HP tablet features an aluminium keyboard cover and a thin body that makes it effortless to lug around.

According to a report from PC World, the distinct U-shaped metal kickstand differentiates it from the Surface Pro as it takes up less space and allows for a bigger and better battery powering up the device. In effect, the Spectre X2 boasts a respectable battery life packing a 42-watt hour battery in a mere eight-millimeter body. Battery life lasts 10 hours upon testing with the Mobile Mark 2014.

The 12-inch hybrid features 1920 x 1080 resolution on its 12-inch display. Under the hood, the Spectre X2 is fired up with Intel's latest Skylake-based Core M processors, according to The Verge. Users can opt to purchase an M3, M5 or M7 processor. There is also the option to customize the space available with the choice of 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Other features include an SD card reader and two USB-C connectors on either side. Also upping the Spectre X2 value are its media provisions such as three built-in cameras: a five-megapixel front camera, an eight-megapixel rear camera and Intel's 3D RealSense camera on the back.

According to a report from Tech Times, its audio features are top-of-the-line from Bang & Olufsen. There are dual speakers on the tablet and the keyboard, which is an impressive feat for a hybrid detachable.

The HP Spectre X2 is slated to be released on Nov. 8. It may be purchased from HP or Best Buy for $799.

A report from CNET also highlighted other HP devices making some noise including the Spectre x360, which is a full laptop that can be folded and used as a sturdy tablet. The alternative hybrid is fitted with a 13-inch 2560 x 1440 display, as well as an Intel sixth-generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors. It will also be available on Nov. 8.

Other available HP products are the HP Envy laptop and the Envy Curved All-In-One with an exceptionally large screen measuring 34 inches.
