Calle 13 released the latest visual for a new single, Adentro, where Rene Pérez Joglar destroys his luxury sports car to protest against hip-hop's squandering consumerism.

In the black-and-white music video, the Puerto Rican rapper takes his 2005 Maserati Quattroporte Sedan, which costs almost $100,000 new, to a remote desert location and completely unleashes his anger on it. After being handed a baseball bat by Major League Baseball legend Willie Mays, he smashes the luxury Italian vehicle, which then falls from a cliff.

The rapper, who uses the stage name Residente, previously explained why he threw such a tantrum in the film.

"I bought the Maserati because I myself fell victim to the stereotypes," said Residente Calle 13. "I thought that once I had a nice house and a nice car that meant I had made it in the entertainment industry."

However, the rapper's materialistic view turned out to be otherwise, which caused him to decide to destroy the expensive sports car that once took a prideful place in his driveway.

"When I started using the car, it made me feel uncomfortable owning it... because I realized that the car stood for everything that is wrong with society," Joglar added. "Material goods aren't what makes life worthwhile."

Calle 13's new music video certainly offers audiences a profound message of protesting against modern rap, which is more concerned with money, women, status and arrogance. The Puerto Rican group's lyrics are more influenced by social and political concerns.
