Disney has been able to create such amazing characters that the sequels are as highly anticipated as new releases. However, fans will have to wait quite a while before getting to see some of their favorites on the big screen as the studio recently announced the working launch dates for upcoming films "Toy Story 4" and "The Incredibles 2."

According to a report from Hollywood Reporter, the new installment of the beloved "Toy Story" franchise will be delayed one year from its original release date on June 16, 2017 to June 15, 2018. A year after, the family-friendly animated film "The Incredibles 2" will hit theaters on June 21, 2019.

While the audience will have to sit tight for a few years before getting a taste of their favorite franchises, a lot of details about the new films have already been revealed by the minds behind them.

During the D23 Expo last summer, Pixar's chief creative officer John Lasseter disclosed that the fourth "Toy Story" movie will be a love story between Woody and Bo Peep, according to a report from GameSpot. The doll was last seen sold in a garage sale in the second movie.

"As we were looking around we came up with this idea, because Bo Peep was not in Toy Story 3, and it actually worked beautifully into this," Lasseter explained. "So Woody and Buzz Lightyear go out to find Bo Peep and bring her back, and it's a very special and emotional love story."

The end of the "Toy Story 3" saw an emotional farewell to Andy, who has owned the group of ragtag toys since the first movie's debut in 1995. With Andy going off to college, the toys — including Woody and Buzz — begin a new life with the little girl Bonnie.

Many were surprised that the franchise will continue beyond life with Andy, but Lasseter explained the decision saying, "At Pixar and at Disney, we only do a sequel if we have come up with something that's as good or better than the original. We don't do things just to print money. It's about great stories."

For "The Incredibles 2," director Brad Bird didn't reveal many details about the upcoming sequel but expressed his excitement to explore the characters more.

In an interview with IGN, he said, "The one thing that you don't have in this movie that you had in the first one, is that you don't have the family discovering, or rather, the kids discovering their powers. ...they already know, so you have to move the story ahead and say, 'What else can you do?'"

It's a crowded line-up for Disney, especially with its partnership with Marvel. Recently announced projects include: "Cars 3" on June 16, 2017, "Black Panther" on Feb. 16, 2018, "Ant-Man and the Wasp" on July 6, 2018 and "Captain Marvel" on Mar. 8, 2019.
