The recent hype of the new Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus has only allowed Android users to beg the question as to when the Samsung Galaxy S7 will arrive and just how does it plan to top its predecessor.

Release Date by End of 2015?

The competition the new Apple product is now posing has users expecting the new Android device to be rushed into market sooner than expected. The S7 was initially projected to unveil on Feb. 21, 2016 and be released early March 2016, however there are now those that wouldn't be surprised if the release came before the end of the year.

Built-in Iris Scanner

There have yet to be any formal announcements on what's to come with the newest device, but reports have now suggested that the S7 may be the first of its kind to come with bio-metric technology such as a built-in iris scanner for increased security measures. The phone would likely use the front facing camera to identify the given user by simply looking at it, making access a lot more intimate than a password or fingerprint scanner.

Slimmer

Other than this, Galaxy users can expect the next phone to be even slimmer than the last, with a new reinforced Tortoise Glass, expected to beat out last year's Gorilla Glass. Its also expected to adopt the S6 Edge's curved-display, something that was exclusive for the second version of the S6. The 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD resolution and Super AMOLED display technology is projected to stay the same.

Price

A price for the device has yet to be confirmed, but it's expected to come in at around £600 (about $915) for a 32GB model at launch. Its predecessor was presented to the U.K. at the same price with the S6 Edge at around £760 (approximately $1,159). Both phones have hit some serious price drops since their release, but speculators advise those who're looking to pick up the S7 to expect the price to be quite high.
