'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Finale Spoilers: Top 5 Things You Should Know About the Final Episode
On March 31, fans of "How I Met Your Mother" will finally see how the series wraps up with its 2-part special episode. But, before that day arrives, here are some of the things you should know to help you prepare for the series' final episode.
Ted meets the Mother
Last month, Josh Radnor, who plays Ted Mosby in the show, tweeted a picture of the Farhampton sign and said, "About to shoot a scene on a train platform." His post seems to suggest that how his character and the Mother first met will be shown on the last episode of "HIMYM."
Name of the Mother will be revealed
Cristin Milioti first joined "HIMYM" in the eighth season as a guest star. She became a regular cast member in the last season after she was revealed as the future of wife of Ted. But since her first appearance, she has always been referred to as the "Mother". Like her first meeting with Ted, her character's name will most likely be revealed in the last episode of the series.
The Mother might Die
This one has been buzzing around the net for some time now. According to some theory, hints from previous episodes indicate that the "Mother" will die in the future. For example, in episode 19 of the last season, after "mom" says "What mother is going to miss her daughter's wedding?" Ted immediately began to cry. This caused many fans to speculate that she will miss her own daughter's wedding because of her death.
Barney might not be wearing a suit
This may be related to the "The Mother Is Dead" theory. Recently, a photo leaked online showing Neil Patrick Harris' Barney Stinson character not wearing a suit. As fans can recall, Barney previously stated that a funeral is one of the occasions where he will not be wearing a suit, Enstarz reported.
The ending will be a tearjerker
Cobie Smulders, who plays Robin, recently told IGN what the creators of the show revealed to her about the ending. She said, "I went up to Craig [Thomas] after the table read and I was like, 'What is the deal with this?' He was like. 'Well, do you want me to tell you?" I was like, 'Yeah, I think I want to know,' and he just laid it out. I immediately started weeping and had to leave. Like, I had to leave. I said that, I was like, 'Craig, I have to leave right now. Thank you.' And I just walked away."
Smulders also revealed that the last episode is "very beautiful and very true to life."
