Fight-fan gamers are well aware that "EA Sports UFC" will be hitting the shelves this year. But for Wii U users, they'll just have to look forward to a different fighting game since this one won't be coming to their consoles.

Gamespot reported that the game's creative director Bryan Hayes confirmed that the Wii U can't handle "UFC" due to its technical demands. On Reddit, he said, "We're pushing the limits in PS4 and XB1. Wii U isn't on the radar at this point in time."

As for the chances of seeing a PC version of the game, Hayes answered, "Possibly?" Although his answer is not that reassuring, it's still better that the game's confirmed fate on the Wii U console.

But for the lucky Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers, EA sports will be treating them to a game that's "literally as real as it gets." According a previous article on Gamespot, the developers used scanning technology to make the characters look and move as real as possible.

For example, MMA-fighter Chuck Liddell was scanned using the "most advanced capture technology" in order to create a highly-detailed and authentic game character.

This is one of the reasons why the game will only be available for next-generation consoles. Back in 2013, a representative of the company spoke during the Electronic Arts' Gamescom and said, "The game will use the Ignite Engine technology which allows us to do amazing things, but only on Gen 4."

As for the release date of "EA Sports UFC", it was previously stated that the game will be launched on Spring of 2014, leading many gamers to believe that they'll be able to get their hands on it in either April or May.

However, Hayes clarified that the game will not be available in May. Gameranx speculated that the game will be released no earlier than June of this year.
