Carey Mulligan revealed she has welcomed a baby girl with her husband Marcus Mumford.

During her recent appearance on "The Graham Norton Show,"  the 30-year-old actress announced she had become a mother three weeks before, according to E! News.

Everything has run smoothly since Mulligan gave birth, a source told E! News.

"Carey has given birth to a healthy and happy baby," the insider said. "She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends."

Mulligan stopped by the BBC program, wearing a low-cut black pantsuit, to promote her new film "Suffragette," alongside Meryl Streep. Nicole Kidman and Nigella Lawson also made appearances on the episode.

This was not, however, Mulligan's first appearance out in public since giving birth. After welcoming her daughter, the "The Great Gatsby" actress strutted on the red carpet at the British Film Institute's London Film Festival.

During recent interviews, Mulligan has kept quite hush regarding specific details of her daughter and instead has been talking a lot about her upcoming film, which depicts the British women's suffrage movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

"What I love about this film is it didn't feel like a documentary about a time; it felt like a film about today," she said during the press conference. "It is a film to mark the achievements of what these women did and what they gave us but also to highlight where we are in the world. We still live in a society that is sexist and that goes throughout history."

Before the actress had her daughter with the Mumford and Sons front man, the couple had said they were "really excited" to start a family. Mulligan and Mumford married in April 2012 in Somerset, England. The couple had been former childhood pen pals who had lost touch over the years before reconnecting.
