Lorde and Taylor Swift have been quite inseparable for the past few weeks. Now, the "Royals" singer reveals the truth about the pair's rumored lesbian relationship.

The New Zealand pop star appeared on KISS FM on Monday to talk about her upcoming Australian tour, and the host Kyle Sandilands could not just resist asking about the recent dating rumors surrounding her and "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer.

"I see you guys' pictures everywhere -- are you guystogether now?" Sandilands initiated the topic. "Not together as in lesbians, I'm not talking about 'Ellen together,' I'm talking about, like you guys are friendly right?"

Lorde then retaliated immediately: "What do you mean you're not talking about 'Ellen together,' is there something wrong with lesbians?"

"Oh my god no, I would love that!" the host responded. "Are you going to confirm now you're in a lesbian relationship with her?"

"Don't even try it," the singer fired back, refusing to be tricked into staring a rumor.

However, Sandilands was not willing to let it go so easily. Instead, he continued to press for more information. "I do love her though, we get along well with her. She's very down to earth, right?"

"Uh... yeah," the Grammy winner answered after an awkward pause.

Kyle Sandilands then sarcastically said: "Don't go too overboard explaining the friendship then."

"I wont, believe me," said Lorde, who had enough of the conversation by this point.

In addition, she explained why he turned down an offer to be a support act for Katy Perry's upcoming Prismatic tour. "I think in the really early stages of any artist's career, it's important for them to establish themselves for themselves," said Lorde. "I'm just basically really stubborn and I want to be really independent, and so I wanted to be headlining my own shows as opposed to supporting someone else."
