Fox will keep the rights to "Fantastic Four" after its 2015 reboot.

After much speculation, it has now been reported that Fox will keep the rights to the esteemed franchise, and the studio is set to reboot the franchise in five years. According to Den of Geek, Fox will try to make a new film with new actors, rebooting the story yet again.

Thus far, Fox has produced three unsuccessful "Fantastic Four" films. The first two films were panned by critics, but still managed to make over $100 million. However, the reboot this year was one of the worst reviewed films of 2015, and it flopped financially.

Marvel recently denied rumors that it would take back the rights. There has been no official announcement at the moment from either studio. However, there is a lot of speculation that the two studios migh join forces, much like Sony did with Marvel for the "Spider-Man" franchise.

"Fantastic Four" is the oldest Marvel comic ever, and fans have expressed interest in seeing the superheroes in the "Avengers" films.

Fox also announced that it would make two new spin offs of the "X-Men" movies, the studio's most successful franchise to date. The studio is currently developing a "Gambit" movie that is set to star Channing Tatum. While the project has experienced setbacks, Fox is banking on the film to be the first of many in a new series.

In addition to "Gambit," the studio is releasing a "Deadpool" film and hopes to create a franchise out of that character as well.

Meanwhile, Marvel will continue its Avengers story with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Doctor Strange" next year. The studio will also release "Black Panther," a second "Ant-Man" and two more "Avengers" films. Marvel also has plans for a third "Thor," as well as a "Captain Marvel" film.

The new "Fantastic Four" reboot is scheduled for 2020.
