A 6-month-old baby was killed on Thursday after being thrown out of the window of a New York City apartment building, marking the third time in three months that a baby was fatally tossed out of their own home.

Cops with the New York Police Department arrested 27-year-old Tenisha Fearon after witnesses say she threw her infant daughter out of her Bronx apartment, reports WABC-TV. The baby was then taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The woman's three other children -- a 10-year-old boy, an 8-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl -- were also home at the time of the tragic incident, however they were not injured.

The Fire Department said they received a call about a child outside a window around 2 p.m. at the building, reports The Associated Press.

According to neighbors, Fearon was yelling, "I'm going to throw the baby," as she dangled her daughter out the window.

"She was saying, 'Hallelujah, praise God, we're all going to die,' " said Lizette Rodriguez, 48, who lives three floors below Fearon at 2200 Tiebout Avenue in the Bronx. "She was arguing with herself."

Rodriquez told WABC that Fearon witnesses tried to stop Fearon from killing her child.

"And then that's when the neighbors started screaming, 'No, no, no, no!'" she said. "They were yelling at her: 'Don't do it! Think about it.'"

She added, "I heard the thump when I was on the phone with 911. And I gasped, 'Oh my God,'" according to The New York Times.

Gregorio Lopez, who lives next door to the suspect, said he peaked into Fearon's window and "saw her naked and the three kids naked and I thought they were all dead," he said. "And then she jumps up and starts hitting the window."

Following the incident, Fearon was taken from her home in Fordham Heights and sent to a hospital for an evaluation.

Pauline Bryan, who knew Fearon from the neighborhood, was shocked to learn about the news.

"I can't believe this," she said. "She never told me she had problems. She's not a mother like that. May God help her."

Carol Watson told The New York Times that the mother was protective of her children.

"Something must have snapped," Watson said. "She was a good mother and very protective of those children. All I can tell you is that something must have snapped. She must have had a breakdown or something."

In September, a newborn was found dead outside an apartment building in the University Heights section of the Bronx after the baby girl's mother threw her from a seventh-story window shortly after giving birth. Her umbilical cord was still attached. The mother is now facing murder and manslaughter charges.

In addition, police arrested a Queens woman for allegedly killing her 1-month-old son. According to court documents, she told authorities an evil spirit had possessed the boy and she was "stopping the pain" when she tossed him from the fourth-floor window.
