The iPhone is seen as a luxury product. Why? Because of its metal casing, hence premium price. The competing Samsung Galaxy lineup of phones are equally compelling performance wise and actually offer a host of features that iFans can only dream off, however face tracking and heart rate monitors only appeal to a few users. What Samsung fans really want is a device that looks and feels as luxurious as the iPhone 5s. But will Samsung actually release a metal Galaxy phone or is all this talk just a bunch of hot air?

Recent rumors suggest that a Galaxy phone called the Galaxy F or Galaxy S5 Prime will debut sometime after the release of the plastic Galaxy S5. Now the specs for the F will largely, if not identically, resemble the under-the-hood specs found in the regular S5.

One major change may be the screen resolution. A Quad HD display (nearly 4K resolution) could be coming to the Galaxy F. That would blow away anything Samsung, Apple, or anyone else in the mobile sector has to offer. All that resolution wouldn't just be for show either. Premium handsets like the Galaxy Note III can already capture 4K video, yet most users don't own a 4K display, thus they are relegated to watching their content in Full HD.

However, it's very possible that the Galaxy F may very well include the same 5.1-inch 1080p panel found in the forthcoming S5. While a Quad HD display would be a welcome addition to the Galaxy lineup, it isn't a necessity at this point. The Galaxy S5 display performs like a champ thanks to great viewing angles and color rendition.

For those of you wanting to imagine what a metal Samsung phone would look like checkout the work of graphic design guru Ivo Maric. His Galaxy F concept phone is sexy. This concept isn't something far-fetched either. Instead Maric's phone design just features an edge-to-edge display and an aluminum enclosure.
