Yesterday, Titanfall was released on PC and Xbox One. Not surprisingly, the Xbox One release has been plagued with Xbox Live crashes. Still, Microsoft executives insist the game works fine.

Gamers have been reporting difficulty logging into Xbox Live since the launch of Titanfall. The problem is an almost guaranteed death sentence for the game as Xbox Live is needed to enjoy any of its multi-player gameplay. As The Verge points out, "you can't even play the tutorial without a connection."

Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb, Xbox Live director of programming, however, says the game is not to blame.

"If you are having issues signing into Xbox Live, we are aware of it and actively working on the issue. This is not a #Titanfall issue," he said via Twitter today.

Even if the problems are not Titanfall's fault, Microsoft must hurry to remedy the situation if the game is to help Xbox One win the current console war against Sony's PlayStation 4.

"We're making a big bet that Titanfall is going to be a blockbuster launch for Xbox," Yusuf Mehdi, head of marketing and strategy for Microsoft's Xbox group, told Reuters. "We don't have a sales forecast for the game to share, but we expect it to be big for us."

Moments ago, Xbox Support claimed that the "Xbox Live is good to go!" via Twitter. The tweet included a link that teaches gamers to power cycle their console, thus reportedly fixing the issue.

"1. While the console is on, press and hold the console's Xbox button for 5 seconds. 2. The console will power down. 3. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn your console back on by again pressing the Xbox button," the instructions read.

Xbox Live service updates can be found here. Titanfall hits Xbox 360 on March 25 and March 28 in North America and Europe respectively.
