Good news fans, The Big Bang Theory has renewed its contract for three more seasons with CBS and Warner Bros. Television. This means that fans of the top-rating comedy series will continue to laugh with the show until 2017. Even though there is no news about the license fee, some have hinted that it is around $4-5 million per episode, the highest so far for a comedy series. The new 3 season contract signifies the second successive 3 season extension of The Big Bang Theory, something which is usually set aside for television's biggest shows.

CBS and Warner Bros. TV will focus on the comedy series' cast after securing the license agreement. Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bailik, two of the comedy series' regular cast members, have signed a new contract with the show starting last autumn. The contracts of the other original cast members (Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg) will end after this season's finale.

It was anticipated that a renewal of their contracts will start soon and they will get $1 million per episode in the new contract. Some viewers may remember that this amount was the rate given to the cast of Friends. Galecki, Cuoco and Parsons are currently receiving $350,000 per episode of The Big Bang Theory.

The Big Bang Theory is a constantly top rating television show with an average of 19.79 million televiewers. The last season's viewership even increased by 4 percent. It has a bigger following than any other television series and is far more successful that any other shows featuring geeks or antisocial characters. The previous seasons are still continuously reaping profits for both CBS and Warner Bros TV.

Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment, said that comedy shows hold a high position within their program and that the closing of this multi-billion dollar deal only reinforces their strategy for the coming seasons. The Big Bang Theory is currently the largest TV comedy series and the new license agreement is a big milestone in the partnership of CBS with Warner Bros. TV.

The Big Bang Theory has received three best series Emmy Award nominations and has given Jim Parsons three Emmy Awards.
