"Fifty Shades Darker" is officially in pre-production, as evidenced by new photos released by author E.L. James.

Just when audiences thought the film was nowhere near production, James reminded her fans of the film's impending development and casting announcements. The writer of the beloved "Fifty Shades of Grey" series once again took to Instagram, where she shared two pictures in production offices.

The first picture that the author posted showed producer Michael De Luca's nameplate. Alongside the picture, she used the hashtag #working.

The second picture that she revealed showed her seated at a table in a meeting with De Luca, producer Dana Brunetti, director James Foley, and her husband Niall Leonard, who is writing the script for the upcoming film. James captioned the picture "Fun Times."

"Fifty Shades Darker" has been in the headlines as of late thanks to Dakota Johnson, who has been promoting her new film "Black Mass" and has constantly been asked about the sequel to the widely popular "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Additionally, there have been rumors about Jamie Dornan accepting a higher salary in order to appear nude in the film. However, the studio has yet to confirm any of the rumors.

Both Johnson and Dornan have already confirmed that they are reprising their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. However, the rest of the crew has yet to be announced, as casting has yet to begin on a number of new roles for the film, including Jack Hyde and Mrs. Robinson.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is expected to be released on Feb. 10, 2017, and the sequel "Fifty Shades Freed" is slated to hit theaters on Feb. 9, 2018. There is no news about who will direct the third film, but if all works out, Foley will likely finish the trilogy.
