It's finally here.

The whole season comes down to just one series. If you're a New York Mets or Kansas City Royals fan, take advantage of the moment. If you're a fan of the other 28 teams, just sit back and enjoy the great baseball.

The Mets continued their incredible bounce back season by eliminating the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series. The Mets ended any hope of keeping "Back to the Future II" from staying true. This Mets team didn't just beat the Cubs -- they swept them and beat Jake Arrieta in the process.

Jacob deGrom has been pitching incredibly this postseason. He has a perfect 3-0 record with impressive wins over Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke. DeGrom won two games against the Los Angeles Dodgers, both on the road in the National League Division Series. Matt Harvey will be getting the start in Game 1 for the Mets, and deGrom will be on the mound in Game 2.

Daniel Murphy is swinging the bat like Babe Ruth lately. Murphy has already surpassed Mike Piazza for the most postseason home runs in franchise history. He has now hit a home run in the last six consecutive postseason games, another record. The Mets haven't won the World Series since 1986 when they defeated the Boston Red Sox in seven games.

Because the AL won the All-Star game, that means the Royals will have home-field advantage in the World Series. That also means that if this series goes the full seven games, it will be played in Kansas City.

For the second consecutive year, the Royals are back in the championship. Last year the Royals ended a 29-year playoff drought but lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series. The Royals have been on top of their division all year long and had an impressive playoff run. They eliminated the Houston Astros and then the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL playoffs.

Most likely Edinson Volquez will be starting Game 1 for the Royals.

The biggest X factor in this series will be Johnny Cueto. Cueto is one of the best pitchers in the game, but his inconsistent play does leave doubt. Cueto pitched a gem against the Astros in Game 5 allowing just two runs in eight innings, but he was terrible against the Blue Jays in Game 3. Cueto allowed eight runs in just two innings in that game. Whether or not the good Cueto decides to show up may very well just decide this series.

The Royals, like the Mets, have proven to be a very resilient squad. Time and time again we've seen them come from behind to win late games. The last team to win the World Series having lost it the previous year was the 1989 Oakland Athletics, who swept the Giants.
