"Agent Carter" has cast "That 70s Show" alum Kurtwood Smith in a new role for Season 2 of Marvel's popular comic book series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith has been cast in the series as Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department with in-depth knowledge of how that government system works.

In an interview, executive producers Tara Butters, Chris Dingess, and Michele Fazekas discussed the latest addition to the Season 2 cast. The trio revealed that they had Smith in mind to play the role from the beginning but believed he wouldn't accept, according to Realty Today.

By joining "Agent Carter," Smith will be reunited with his former "Resurrection" bosses, since both Butters and Fazekas worked on that show as well. Smith was a series regular and starred as Henry for both seasons of the show.

In other "Agent Cater" news, it has been revealed that Lyndsy Fonseca, who plays Peggy Carter's (Hayley Atwell) best friend Angie Martinelli in the series, has taken a role in another show.

According to Digital Spy, Fonseca will be guest starring in at least two episodes of the new sitcom "Grandfathered" as Frankie, love interest of Gerald (Josh Peck).

Fonseca's future in "Agent Carter" is still unknown. The actress took to Twitter on Monday, Oct. 13 to reveal news about her character for Season 2, but she admitted that even she doesn't know much about what to expect.

"I have the best #AgentCarter fans #Cartinelli forever! Your support is amazing but I still have no word about Angie in this season," Fonseca posted on Twitter.

During New York Comic Con, it was also revealed that Season 2 will bring on a few other new characters, including Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham), Madame Masque (Wynn Everett) and Jarvis' wife, Ana (Lotte Verbeek).
