Brad Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie, otherwise known as Brangelina, looked very much like the loved-up couple during the screening of their film "By the Sea."

The power couple reportedly only had eyes for one another as they hold hands and hugged, seemingly oblivious of the crowd and the surrounding paparazzi outside the Directors Guild of America theatre in New York on Tuesday evening.

Angelina and Brad look and acted so differently from their on-screen couple in "By the Sea." Despite playing as couples who are struggling to keep their marriage intact in the film, the real-life husband and wife stared into each other's' eyes on the red carpet and also held hands while being interviewed about the movie.

One photo shared by Hello Magazine captured the moment the 40-year-old actress stared lovingly into her husband's eyes. She also had her arm around his waist as they posed for the camera. Us Weekly claimed Brad and Angelina looked like a couple of lovestruck teenagers when they held hands and gazed at each other during the premiere. The site shared another shot of the couple with big smiles on their faces upon arriving at the event.

Their appearance at the "By the Sea" screening came after a rare exclusive interview together as a couple with CBS' "The Today Show." In the interview Angelina talked about her deceased mother Marcheline Bertrand as the inspiration for the film.

"We can't say what the whole film is about, but a lot of the film was when I went to visit my mom in the hospital, when she found out she had cancer the first time, she was gonna have her ovaries removed (and) she was very upset, feeling like ... they're taking out her parts that were female, and there was a woman down the hall who was wailing. I later found out it was a young woman who had not had children yet, and that put everything into perspective," she said.

In the same interview Angelina, who wrote, directed and produced "By the Sea," also opened up about her double mastectomy operation. She talked about how the process only strengthened their marriage.

Brad also praised his wife for thinking about her family and her children when she decided to undergo the operation. There was reportedly "no vanity" to Angelina's decision since she only did it for their children.

"It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter, and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together," Brad said during their interview on "The Today Show."
