Pamela Anderson just shared the news that she's no longer battling Hepatitis C.

The 48-year-old "Baywatch" actress and model was diagnosed with the ailment 16 years ago and has finally been cured of the virus, according to E! News. She offered up a racy photograph of herself for the big reveal on Instagram.

Anderson says she believes she contracted the disease after sharing a tattoo needle with her now ex-husband Tommy Lee. After doctors diagnosed her in 2002 she tried alternative medicines, but it's the newest treatment plan she tried that assisted her in recovery. Originally after being diagnosed, she said it felt like a "death sentence."

"I think it really worked on my self esteem," Anderson said to People earlier this summer. "Even though I may have looked confident on the outside, I think it really was a dark cloud that lingered over me."

Before finding this new treatment, the Hepatitis C virus was incurable, but now the actress has found some relief.

"I don't have any liver damage and I don't have any side effects," she told the magazine. "I'm living my life the way I want to but it could have eventually have caused me some problems and so it was a real blessing that I was able to get the medicine. I'm half way there."

The actress says now that she's found the new treatment she looks in the mirror every day and feels as if she's looking younger each time she looks at herself.

Anderson played one of her most renowned roles as C.J. Parker on "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1997.
