Earlier this year, the show's executive producer, Erica Messer, announced that Cook would be on maternity at the beginning of Season 11 and would therefore not appear in the first several episodes, except for her cameo in the season premiere.

The synopsis teases that the episode will also feature the return of the Dirty Dozen to the show.

"The BAU helps Rossi's journalist daughter, Joy (Amber Stevens West), investigate the disappearance of a college student. Also, the team is alarmed when Giuseppe Montolo (Robert Neary) dies in prison after he warns Morgan about the 'Dirty Dozen,' an underground group of hitmen, and JJ returns from maternity leave," it reads, reports CarterMatt.

Viewers will also see Joy stop by the FBI to ask them to help her investigate the disappearance of a college student. In the trailer video, it appears that the missing student is tied up and trapped in an s attic. She also has a cloth stuffed in her mouth. However, at the end of the video, it looks like she is being stuffed in a coffin-like box.

In addition to finding the missing student, the BAU will also deal with the death of a prisoner named Giuseppe Montolo (Robert Neary) who dies in prison after he warns Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) about the "dirty dozen."
