The Samsung Galaxy S7 might be coming out as early as February.

In the past, Samsung has waited until the Mobile World Congress show at the end of February or early March.

It looks like Samsung is ahead of schedule on getting the Galaxy S7 ready for release, TechRadar reports.

Last year when Samsung was readying the firmware for the Galaxy S6 they waited until December. According to sources speaking to SamMobile, Samsung is already working on the firmware for Galaxy S7, a month early.

Just like last year, it looks like Samsung will introduce two versions of the Galaxy. The Galaxy S7 has two internal code names this year, one called the G930FXXU0AOK6 and the other G935FXXU0AOK6. This likely means there will be one standard Galaxy S7 and another Galaxy S7 with curved edges, possibly called the Galaxy S7 Edge.

This is not the first time the Galaxy S7 has been rumored to be released early. With the firmware already being worked on earlier than expected, it could lead to the phone coming out a month earlier than planned.

Samsung might want to get the Galaxy S7 out as soon as possible to steal some of the hype from the Apple iPhone 6s, which was released at the end of September. There were earlier rumors of the Galaxy S7 coming out in January.

The latest rumors for the Galaxy S7 have been regarding its camera. Samsung might be partnering with Sony to include the IMX300 that is used in the Xperia Z5.

The Galaxy S7 will update the Galaxy S6 with some new features. First, the processor used inside the smartphone will be the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

For screen size, the Galaxy S7 could wind up being two sizes. One of the screens would be 5.2 inches and the other would be around 5.8 inches. The larger of the two screens would probably be the screen with the curved edges.
